iMatrix-511

Product description: iMatrix-511 is a recombinant human laminin-511 E8 fragment protein expressed in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO)-S cells. iMatrix-511 contains the integrin-binding site of the laminin-511 molecule. iMatrix-511 is a useful cell culture substrate for feeder-free culture and single-cell passage of ES cells and iPS cells, facilitating stable culture expansion. iMatrix-511 is also useful for the culture of other cells adhering to laminin-511.

iMatrix-511 is for maintenance and expansion of pluripotent stem cells (PSCs)

This product is purified from silkworm cocoon in which genes of human Laminin-511 E8 fragment is incorporated. With equal integrin-binding activity as iMatrix-511 produced by CHO-S cells, this product can be used for producing and maintaining cultures of iPS cells.
Highly productive transgenic silkworms make recombinant laminin fragment at competitive price. With uncoated pre-mix method, the price is comparable to those of Matrigel and vitronectin. [2]

Freezing:

For optimum results, cells for cryopreservation should be in log phase of growth. Similar or standard freezing protocols may be substituted.

Examine and make sure the cell culture free of contamination, in healthy situation and proper confluency, etc.

Perform a cell count to determine the viability of cells.

Gently pellet the cells centrifugation (3 – 5 minutes at 1,000~2,000rpm, 4℃). Remove the supernatant using a aspirator.

Gently suspend the cells with CELLBANKER® cryopreservation medium (1 ml) for 5×105 – 5×106 cells.

Dispense the cell suspension in 1ml aliquots to cryopreservation vials that have been labeled with the cell line name, cell concentration, passage date and other essential information.

Place the vials directly in a -80℃ for storage.

If necessary, transfer the frozen vials to a liquid nitrogen storage tank after the vials have been frozen for at least 24 hours.
